The Cats of Andros

I recently visited Greece for a couple of weeks – D. had a conference on Tinos island the first week and we took a break the weekend after the conference on another island, Andros, before heading to his hometown for a few days. It was nice to see his family for the first time in four years!

I’ve been back a week already – I plan to write a longer post on Andros, but work is pretty busy. In the meantime, here are some shots of cats and scenery in Andros.

On the prowl
Mama and kids
This one was chatty
This one was sprawled in front of a bakery or, sometimes sprawled across the doorway of the bakery. Very contented.
This one has a little home – see next pic
And a bonus for the dog lovers

It was very hard not to bring a little friend or two back with me . . .

  1. It doesn’t take much to “oh and ah” at the pics you share. Being an animal lover, these bring an extra smile to my face! Added bonus was to see the stone streets, steps and pavements of Greece. I can just picture the white washed buildings of a country close to my heart. Always looking forward to your next post!!!

    1. Yes, I know you have a special spot in your heart for Greece. I have a little something I’m sending you. Sorry to be slow in writing back!

  2. Adorable pics of kitty life in Greece! I traveled to Greece several years ago visiting Mykonos, Delos and Corfu. Loved it there😍

  3. Great pics. From when I spent 7 weeks camping in Greece in 1979, I don’t recall seeing many cats – mainly dogs. and donkeys on Lesvos. Probably varies by region.
So glad you got a vacation. Hi to Dimitris for me.

  4. Love seeing all the cat photos – making me want to go there all the more. Great to see you’ve been able to enjoy some travelling this summer.

  5. Kitty Cat Island, you probably had a past life there. Is there a Greek Bunny Isle too?
I’m so jealous that Ann got to see you a week ago or so, however she did share you’ll be back here in the fall, yipeeeeeeeeee! Miss you ♥️
