I can’t say that the last week or so has been a lot of fun. I’ve been dealing with more unintelligible (and messy) Scottish tradesmen after we had a fuse blow which turned into needing the installation of a whole new circuit breaker. Apparently, our previous box was illegal and dangerous, but the home report we got before we bought the place sadly didn’t relay that. In the end, I’m glad we’re safer, even though it was another unexpected expense and a lot of down time without power.
In the last few weeks I have seen my life’s fill of plumbers’ cracks – just be happy there are no pics to share here . . .
The small things have once again been my source of delight – in this case the small wild things.
We’ve been watching the roof of the twin building across the yard from us where a pair of seagull parents are raising their chick. I found my binoculars and which allowed us to see that the little squirt has spots all over his head and wings – very sweet. D. named him Adam, which I quickly suggested we make a little more local with the addition of Mac – so now he (or she) is Macadam.
D. also pointed out the beautiful sunset at 10:30pm the other night and we were craning out of our window to look to the west.
And then I looked down for a moment in our common yard and to my surprise saw this beautiful fox!
And across the street, there is a sweet little pond. I’ve been following the growth of the cygnets and today they were literally in my path, having a family grooming party.
And I also encountered these young ducklings.
I hope you’re enjoying the wild and wonderful wherever you are.
Stay tuned for what I hope will be more wild encounters 🙂
